Commands and Permissions

CinematicEngine provides an intuitive, robust command structure managed by CommandManager. All subcommands feature smart contextual tab-completion, multilingual support (i18n), and rich feedback messages rendered via Adventure MiniMessage.

⌨️ Command Syntax

    • [player] (Optional): Target online player to experience the cinematic.
  • Permission: cinematic.play (Default: op)
  • Examples:
    /cine play welcome
    /cine play boss_intro Alex

2. /cine stop [player]

Immediately stops the cinematic currently playing for the target player (or sender) and restores their original state (gamemode, location, and spectator view).

    • [player] (Optional): Target online player.
  • Permission: cinematic.stop (Default: op)
  • Example:
    /cine stop

  • Permission: cinematic.list (Default: true)
  • Example:
    /cine list

6. /cine reload

Reloads all scene YAML files and language bundles (locales/messages_*.yml) from disk, updating internal registries and active translations without requiring a server reboot. Validates each scene against SceneDtoValidator and logs any parsing errors to the console.

  • Permission: cinematic.reload (Default: op)
  • Example:
    /cine reload

7. /cine help

Prints the help menu with available subcommands, argument descriptions, and syntax guides.

  • Permission: cinematic.help (Default: true)
  • Example:
    /cine help

🎨 Formatting and Localization (i18n)

All command responses, error notices, and operational status messages are processed through the internationalization service (MessageService) using Adventure MiniMessage:

  • Dynamic Placeholders: Messages support contextual replacements such as <subcommand>, <label>, <permission>, <name>, and <count>.
  • Rich Visual Styling: Full support for RGB/hex colors (<#55ffff>), gradients (<gradient:#ffaa00:#ff5555>), and text decorations like or .
  • Complete Customization: Modify any translation strings or visual themes inside plugins/CinematicEngine/locales/ and hot-reload them via /cine reload.
